William W. Meadows
Executive Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer
Wm. Rigg Co. An important contributor to the success and growth of The Rigg
Group, Inc., Bill Meadows has served as Senior Vice President
since August of 1995. He has been with Rigg for over 20 years.
After
joining Wm. Rigg Co., he was Vice President of Rigg Insurance
Managers, Inc., where he was involved with the placement of specialty
lines of property and casualty insurance in international and
domestic insurance markets. Later, as the Vice President and
Senior Account Executive for Wm. Rigg Co., Mr. Meadows was responsible
for the servicing and placement of property and casualty insurance
for large commercial accounts. Before being named Senior Vice
President of The Rigg Group, Inc., he served as Executive Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer of the Fort Worth division
of Wm. Rigg Co. In 1976-77, Mr. Meadows worked in London, England
with Lloyd's of London, where he placed insurance for major international
clients and became a broker at Lloyd's.
Bill Meadows is well known in Texas and in Tarrant County for his business acumen, political activism, and community service. He served on the board of directors and executive committee of Summit Bank, N.A. and the board of directors at Summit Bancshares Inc. While governor of Texas, President George W. Bush appointed Mr. Meadows to the Texas Water Development Board. He has served several terms on the Fort Worth City Council and as Fort Worth mayor pro tem.
Currently president
of the endowment fund for the Fort Worth Nature Center, Mr. Meadows
is also a board member of Fort Worth Country Day School. He is
currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Museum of
Science and History. Mr. Meadows has been involved with the YMCA,
the Women's Center of Tarrant County, and Ducks Unlimited, among
other organizations.
In the past, he has been a member of the
board of trustees of Southwestern University; of the Board of
Directors for the Arts Council of Tarrant County; and of the
UNT Health Science Center Advisory Board.
He is also a former
vice chairman of the Fort Worth Parks and Recreation Board and
a former chairman of the United Way allocations subcommittee.
Mr. Meadows has also served as a member of the Policy Committee
for DFW International Airport, a member of the board of directors
of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, and is a former board
member of Independent Insurance Agents of Tarrant County.
Bill
Meadows earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwestern
University in 1975. He attended Harlaxton Institute in Grantham,
England, and Durham University in Durham, England.
He and his
wife Pati, an attorney, live in Fort Worth with their two children,
Hannah and Walker. They were recently awarded the YMCA’s
Chi Rho Award for outstanding community service. |
