Cecil Y. Ray, Jr.

Wm. Rigg Co. Cecil
Y. Ray, Jr. is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Rigg
Group, Inc., a full service financial organization with headquarters
in Fort Worth, Texas. Privately held, the Group is comprised
of several financial service entities doing business on a regional
basis throughout the Southwest and Southern California, with
strong international capabilities.
Mr. Ray began his career at
Wm. Rigg Co. in property and casualty and life insurance sales
shortly after leaving the U.S. Army in 1957. Prior to that,
he attended the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee,
and
Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
He joined Rigg and
received training at insurance schools at both Kemper Insurance
and Aetna
Insurance companies. At that time, the Company, which was
founded in 1895, had approximately ten employees. Mr. Ray recruited
Henry Meadows as his first partner and has since expanded Wm.
Rigg
Co. to include offices in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston.
In 1961, Mr. Ray founded Wm. Rigg Realtors, Inc. This firm
became
one of the largest residential real estate companies in
the Dallas-Fort
Worth area, with 13 sales offices and 450 associates located
throughout the Metroplex. Wm. Rigg Realtors, Inc. was sold
to NRT/Coldwell Banker in 1999.
Another Rigg Group company,
Rigg Insurance Service Company, Inc., better known as RISC
Inc., an
excess surplus lines agency, was established in 1977
and is
located in Dallas. In 1987, Mr. Ray originated American
Financial Services,
Inc., an insurance premium finance company, also based
in Dallas. AFS now does business throughout the South and Southwest.
Subsequently,
in 1993 he added Ibex Financial Services, Inc., another
insurance
premium finance company; Ibex is located in Irvine, California,
servicing California and the West Coast.
Cecil Ray is
a member of The Fort Worth Club, The Petroleum Club of Fort
Worth, The Crescent Club, and River Crest Country Club. He is
also
past
and present director of several social and civic organizations. |
