As the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Rigg Group, Inc., Jay Scheideman specializes in corporate financial strategies, including acquisitions, mergers, securitizations, private placements, debt financing, and corporate tax matters.
A Certified Public Accountant and member of the Financial Executive Institute, Mr. Scheideman began his financial career in 1978 with Ernst & Young as an auditor. He joined Rigg in 1981 as Controller.
Currently, he is active in the American Society of CPAs and the Texas Society of CPAs where he serves as a trustee of the Insurance Trust for members of the Texas Society. Mr. Scheideman also serves on the Finance Committee for the Texas Independent Insurance Agents Association, Trinity Valley School, and is Chairman of the Audit Committee for a large regional bank. He has served on the board of directors of Casa Mañana, as a precinct chairman for the Tarrant County Republican Party, as president of his congregation, and as a member of the Downtown Fort Worth Rotary Club and several private clubs.
Mr. Scheideman earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, with a major in accounting and a minor in economics. He has been a speaker at insurance industry mergers and acquisitions seminars.
He enjoys his family, golf, bird hunting, and racquetball and has been enthusiastically involved in activities of the Tarrant County Jail Ministry and the TCU School of Business Alumni Association Council.
