Stephen
B. Smith, CPCU, is president of Wm. Rigg Co. The corporate headquarters
are in Fort Worth, Texas with additional offices in Dallas and
Houston.
Mr. Smith is a seasoned insurance executive with over
21 years experience in the industry. His extensive commercial
brokerage knowledge provides unparalleled leadership for agency
operations in all offices. By engaging Rigg’s deep pool
of talented professionals serving key industry groups, Mr. Smith
assures Rigg's and client needs are met in the tradition of excellent
service for which Wm. Rigg Co. is well known.
Mr. Smith’s
wide-ranging responsibilities include mergers and acquisitions,
risk management, marketing and advertising, as well as internal
training and development programs. Among his many areas of expertise,
he is nationally recognized for his knowledge and proficiency
in directors/officers and construction industry risk management
consulting.
Mr. Smith is Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter,
a designation which reflects his intensive commitment to further
education and to a standard of excellence in the insurance industry.
He served as a U.S. Army Captain on active duty for four years.
Mr. Smith earned his Bachelor of Science degree in economics
and finance from Texas A&M University. Since then he has
completed advanced graduate course work at the University of
Texas at Arlington and the Wharton Business School’s Executive
Program.
Prior to joining Wm. Rigg, Mr. Smith was senior vice
president and partner of Noel Greaves, Inc for eight years.
There, he directed the Management Liability Practice Group, establishing
a national reputation for directors and officers and professional
liability consulting services. Following the acquisition of
Noel
Greaves by Summit Global Partners, Inc. (SGP) in 1997, Mr.
Smith served as president and CEO of Summit Global Partners of
Texas,
Inc. for four years.
At SGP, Mr. Smith was responsible for
all aspects of the $60 million commercial operation as well
as the
management of all International Risk Management programs,
where he served as director of the Worldwide Broker Network.
He also
initiated and completed the consolidation of five insurance
agencies to create SGP, in Houston.
Another past career endeavor
included
working as a national accounts manager, district manager,
and national account executive representative for Employers
Casualty Company whose major clients included Levi Strauss, Hilton
Hotels,
HEB Grocery Company, and Valero Energy.
Steve Smith is
active
in civic and charitable endeavors in Houston and the
Dallas/Fort Worth area. He lives with his wife and daughter in
Dallas, Texas. |
